Sam Mertes is a Major League Baseball player. He played in 1896 to 1906 as Outfielder, Short Stop, Catcher, 1st Base, Pitcher, 3rd Base and 2nd Base for the St. Louis Cardinals, the New York Giants, the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Orphans and the Philadelphia Phillies.
